What is Gynophobia?
Gynophobia is an abnormal fear of women. The word is a combination of ‘Gyno’ meaning women and ‘Phobos’ for fear in Greek.
Apart from fear it is also possible there is a hatred factor (towards women) involved in sufferers of this phobia.
Gynophobia Causes for You
It is widely believed that factors such as heredity, genetics, and brain chemistry play a big role in the development of phobias.
Life-experiences and traumatic events are also known factors that can lead one to develop phobias.
Moreover, gynophobia causes can include sparse interaction with women. One big factor that can lead to development of this phobia can be a traumatic event, most likely in early boyhood or in adolescence, associated with a female.
The phobia can stem from traumatic experience involving emotional, physical or sexual abuse by a female.
Gynophobia can also result from an initial relationship with a woman that is filled with negative behavior such as domination, abuse or mistreatment.
On the hand, it can be a result of associated trauma that is bereft of any direct involvement of the sufferer.
Associated trauma can also be a valid cause. In this case the trauma is not something a person experiences directly, but associates with someone else in real life, literature or even dreams.
