What is Chlamydia?

Chlamydia is a sexual disease (STD) transmitted through Chlamydia trachomatisChlamydia Symptoms include swelling and pain in testicles bacterium.

Infections are commonly found in sexually active young adults and among those having multiple sexual partners. The main cause of chlamydia transmission is through oral, anal or vaginal sex.

Know Chlamydia Causes

Chlamydia is contagious in nature & transmitted from direct skin contact (commonly through sexual activity). You can get chlamydia infection through:

  • Oral sex (unprotected)
  • Performing unsafe vaginal sex
  • Anal sex without adequate protection
  • From infected woman to newborn baby during delivery

Semen or vaginal fluid that is infected can cause conjunctivitis when it comes in contact with the eye.

Identify Chlamydia Symptoms

A good number of people with chlamydia have no chlamydia signs or symptoms. In people who do symptoms are very mild in the initial stage.

This is a reason why chlamydia is also called a silent disease. Chlamydia symptoms are more noticeable in men than in women.

What are the symptoms of chlamydia?

After getting infected, individuals display chlamydia symptoms within one to three weeks. Symptoms can take a longer time and may appear at a much progressed stage.

Symptoms in men:

  • White cloudy/watery discharge (from tip of penis)
  • Painful urination
  • Swelling & pain in testicles

Symptoms in women:

  • Marked increase in vaginal discharge
  • Frequent urination/pain on passing urine
  • Painful sexual intercourse & bleeding following sexual intercourse
  • Pain in lower abdomen
  • Menstrual bleeding that is irregular

Severe chlamydia causes symptom including an inflamed scrotum (pouch for testicles) in men.

Chlamydia Home Remedies

The disease responds well to natural treatment. Include fresh fruits & vegetables in your daily menu as these help build and boost your body’s immunity.

  • Include fresh garlic in your diet routine. Garlic has been used for its antibiotic properties since ancient times. These properties make it an effective agent in cure of chlamydia & help fight the infection.
  • Cover a tampon in fresh yogurt & use two times daily (dispose the used tampon and use a fresh tampon every time) for a period until chlamydia signs subside.
  • Boil some crushed sage in a pot of water for twenty minutes. Leave to cool down before consuming the liquid. It is known to help cleanse your system.
  • Chew raw garlic or consume garlic juice twice daily to get relief from associated chlamydia signs.
  • Coconut contains lauric & capric acid that possess antimicrobial properties. Consume fresh coconut water twice a day for a period until symptoms subside.
